“Piece of cake,” Stan says when his old pal, Seth, calls and asks if his son, Robert, can spend a few nights with him when he comes to the city for college interviews.
“I’d feel better if he wasn’t on his own in a hotel. He’s not used to big cities,” Seth says.
Stan understands. The city is nothing like Council Bluffs, the largest town the boy knows.
Stan and Seth like to go on adventures into the wilderness together. One time they took little Robert along on a rafting trip down the Snake River. That was a long time ago. So when Stan goes to pick Robert up at the airport, he doesn’t recognize him.
A beefy guy walks up to Stan, slaps his shoulders, and says, “Hey, Uncle Stan! Remember me?”
Stan is stunned at what a hunk little Robert has become. On the subway ride into the city, Stan can’t wrap his mind around the fact that the stud next to him is Robert. He wonders how the boy got so many muscles.
