Dad’s Bedtime Tales Newsletter 353, released July 31, 2021. This issue is included with new subscriptions purchased during July 2021.

Stories in this issue are:

  • First Time With Dad • “So what do you think?” Dad says to Bernie when they crawl into their tent. “It’s going to be great, huh, Bernie. Look, we can just zip the screen door shut and sleep with our heads by the door and watch the stars at night.” But Bernie thinks, “We could sleep in our beds at home and be comfortable.” But Bernie’s attitude changes when they meet the hot guy, Alex, in the camper next to their tent.
  • Red Tip • Drethin’s life changes dramatically when his grandfather, Rahmwuulf, gives him a dragon’s egg. Rahmwuulf laughs when Drethen says, “I’m going to hatch it.” And the village sorcerer warns Drethen, “You better hope it is a Redtip. If it’s a Twitch, it might eat you as soon as it hatches.”
  • Bull Wrangling • “I’ve got two mean bulls I need to wrangle,” ol’ man Hudson says in the diner. Everyone in the diner hears the loud rancher. “I’ll wrangle your bulls,” a scrawny kid says. “I don’t mean no disrespect, son, but those bulls would take one look at a scrawny kid like you and kick you over the fence,” Hudson said. But the scrawny kid can wrangle more than just bulls. He can handle a rancher’s big ol’ all too.
  • Chaperones • Stan doesn’t think he needs to chaperone his son, Jerome, on the boy’s first date. Jerome has a date with Hank. It’s not like he’s going to get the other guy pregnant. But Stan relents. He chaperones Jerome to the movies. But Hank has a chaperone too, his dad, Conrad, a stud. The two dads sit behind their sons in the dark movie house. The boys don’t need chaperones. Their dads do.
  • Sometimes It Takes Two Dads • Stan enjoyed chaperoning with Conrad. So when Conrad asks if he’d like to chaperone their two sons again, Stan agrees. Only they’re not taking the sons out. The boys are having a date at Conrad’s home. “You know, with them being teenagers and all, sometimes it takes two dads to make sure things don’t get out of control,” Conrad says. But who is getting out of control? The sons or the dads?
